TRAVEL GRANTS

The Desert Fishes Council offers limited grants to help members present papers at meetings or carry out research travel. Preference is given to members presenting papers, and typically students or those requiring expensive foreign travel have priority. The number of grants and their amount varies from year to year, but typically 4 – 5 are awarded each year. Each award includes $100-$200 (sometimes more is available) to help defray travel, and a free hotel room. Recipients may sometimes be asked to share a room with other travel grant recipients. To be considered for travel to annual meetings, applicants must submit the travel grant request form by the deadline stated in the call for papers.

BECAS PARA VIAJE A CONGRESOS

El DFC ofrece apoyo económico limitado a los miembros que necesiten apoyo para poder presentar trabajos en congresos o en relación a proyectos de investigación. Miembros presentando trabajos se reciben preferencia, y normalmente estudiantes o los que hacen viajes internacionales a los congresos reciben prioridad. Las becas varian entre años, pero normalmente se dan 4 a 5 becas cada año. Estas becas usualmente incluyen $100 a $200 US (y algunas veces más), y un cuarto gratis en el hotel (aúnque tal vez compartido con otro). Los interesados pidiendo apoyo para presentar trabajos en congresos deben de completar el solicitud para beca paraviajar al congreso antes de la fecha limite indicada en el anuncio del congreso.
