DFC 2017 Meeting Announcement

We look forward to seeing you in San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, México, on November 15-19, 2017! This border town on the Colorado River, downstream of Yuma, Arizona, provides easy access from both sides of the border. The conference hotel is within a few blocks of the international border crossing. As obvious in our meeting slide show (pdf), regional attractions are diverse and important aquatic conservation sites will be visited by organized field trips. All DFC meetings have great presentations and special symposia, and are fantastic networking opportunities. This is a meeting you won’t want to miss!

Full details about the meeting are in the Call for Papers in our new meeting management system in EasyChair.org (will open a new tab), and the new abstract submission site is open for business. It’s now possible to edit your submitted abstracts at any time up to the deadline, so don’t hesitate to get your abstract in early, even if in draft form, to hold your place. See our simple instructions to set up your EasyChair account (will open in a new tab) as the first step in the submission process.

We understand that many DFC members from governmental agencies and other organizations may face international travel restrictions this year. Please don’t hesitate to contact local host Martha Roman and DFC President Michael Bogan if we can assist with overcoming logistical barriers to attending, including providing official letters of invitation or confirmation of participation in special or contributed sessions.

The new and improved DFC Online Store is now open for payment of membership dues and meeting registration.

As always, we suggest all interested in this meeting subscribe to the Council’s email discussion list (DFC-L) to be sure to get all future meeting-related news.
