Desert Fishes Council’s 52nd Annual Meeting – has been cancelled

DFC’s Executive Committee made the difficult decision to cancel our in person meeting this year.  We were really looking forward to our annual meeting and the gathering of the best conservation and management professionals in the US and Mexico, but this year we will have to celebrate desert fish and habitats virtually.  We are putting together some desert fish and habitat content that will be shared through the listserv and website during the week of November 16th.   There will be no registration fee for our virtual meeting.  If you have anything that you would like to share about fish you are studying, habitat projects, or links to recent reports or publications, please send them to Megan Bean (megan.bean@tpwd.texas.gov).

Since we will have no funds generated from a meeting this year, we ask that you renew your membership now (it will be $25 or less depending on your status) to help us continue to support our DFC programs like Conservation Grants program and student travel grants.   Our plan for the 2021 DFC Meeting is to continue our normal meeting schedule and work with our DFC local host, Dr. Héctor Espinosa Pérez, who is planning a meeting in Cuatrocienegas.

We look forward to celebrating desert fish and habitats with you in November in this new virtual way.  Stay safe and thanks for everything you all do to protect and conserve desert fish and habitats.
